Good to know
- Your files are processed in your browser and never uploaded to our servers.
- Compression re-encodes the image, which also removes embedded metadata such as camera details and GPS location.
- Need an exact size limit like 50 KB? Lower the quality step by step, or reduce the dimensions with Resize Image.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compress an image to 100 KB or 50 KB?
Lower the quality and check the output size. If it's still too large, reduce the width and height with Resize Image first — fewer pixels shrink the file the most.
Will compression make my photo blurry?
Quality around 70–80% is usually indistinguishable from the original on screens. Very low settings can show blockiness.
Which format gives the smallest files?
WebP is typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at similar quality. Use Image to WebP if the destination accepts it.
